About Alayne Hilton-Gold

A diagnosis that
changed everything

In her late forties, Alayne was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease — a condition causing significant spinal pain and restricted movement. Faced with steroid injections or surgery, she chose a different path. Someone mentioned yoga.

She committed fully: three sessions a week, with genuine intention and care for her body. Within three months, the chronic pain in her lower back had gone. Not managed — gone.

"That transformation was so profound that I knew I had to understand it more deeply. At 49, I enrolled on a teacher training course. I qualified, and I have never looked back."

Born in London, Alayne relocated to Dubai in 2008. She began teaching in 2016 and has since worked with students of all ages and abilities — from those in their twenties seeking strength and flexibility, to those in their eighties looking to maintain mobility and find calm.

Every class begins with breath awareness and closes with a guided relaxation or mindful meditation. Alayne continuously cues breath, muscle engagement, and postural alignment — and applies anatomy awareness throughout to modify postures and prevent injury. Alayne does not believe in a one-size-fits-all class. Every body has a story, and every practice should honour it.

The body and mind exist in constant interaction. The pressures of daily life — worry, chronic pain, disruption, loss — do not remain as thoughts alone. They create measurable changes in the body: elevated stress hormones, increased muscle tension, disrupted sleep, and a nervous system held perpetually on alert.

The Result of Regular Practice

A regular yoga practice does not produce quick fixes. It produces lasting, qualitative changes: reduced tension throughout the body, greater ease of movement, improved mood, clearer thinking, and more restful sleep.

Stress — both mental and physical — accumulates in the body over time. The tension we carry in our minds settles into our shoulders, constricts our chest, and strains our lower back. Yoga addresses all of this: not by forcing the body into shapes, but by gently inviting it to release what it no longer needs to hold.
